Red Oak Defense began as a way to introduce friends and family to firearms in a safe, calm, and practical way. What started informally grew through word of mouth into individualized instruction for people who wanted to learn but didn’t feel comfortable in traditional training environments.

Today, Red Oak Defense offers patient, fundamentals-focused firearms instruction centered on safety, sound judgment, and confidence-building. Training is available one-on-one or in small groups, without the pressure or intimidation of large classes or “boot camp” teaching styles. Instruction is paced to the student. Questions are encouraged, and no one is rushed, talked down to, or expected to perform.

The chief instructor is a husband and father of two with a background in corporate learning and development, bringing a clear, approachable teaching style designed to help every student leave more confident than when they arrived.
